township’s NPDES MS4 Permit.
GAYDOS ANNOUNCES
$491,267 IN STATE
GAMING FUNDS FOR
LOCAL PROJECTS
Rep. Valerie Gaydos announced that
$491,267 in state gaming proceeds
will benefit local projects within the
44th Legislative District. The funds
were officially approved by the Gaming
Economic Development Fund (GEDF).
“These grants are designed to benefit
the community at large and will be
used to make critical improvements
to both community facilities as well
as to our creeks and streams. I am
pleased to be able to work with our
communities to fund projects with such
immediate impact. I thank the GEDF
for their significant investment in these
communities,” said Gaydos.
The GEDF program was established
by Act 71 of 2004 and is fully funded
by gaming revenues, using no General
Fund taxpayer dollars. Grants to the
community were awarded as follows:
n Grants totaling $135,000 were
awarded in North Fayette Township for
the following projects:
• $50,000 toward the construction of
a welcome center and parking lot at
the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.
• $85,000 for a new salt storage facility.
n Grants totaling $141,267 were
awarded in Moon Township for the
following projects:
• $81,267 for the construction of a dog
park, driveway and public parking
area where residents can spend time
with their pets in a safe environment.
• $60,000 to the Moon Transportation
Authority (MTA) as part of a larger
grant of $212,000 for the design
