For the past 10 years, Eric DeFade has been a featured performer for the“ My Music” series on PBS. This program is internationally broadcast, and features such artists as Patti LaBelle, Isaac Hayes, The Temptations and Robert Goulet, to name a few. DeFade has played with music greats Rosemary Clooney, Josh Groban, the New York Voices, Gary Burton, and Dave Liebman, and has toured internationally with The Artie Shaw Band and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
He has appeared on“ The Oprah Winfrey Show” accompanying legendary jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson. His freelance schedule includes performing with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh Symphony Pops, Manchester Craftsman’ s Guild All-Star Big Band, Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, and Billy Price. Most recently, he has been featured soloist with Orcheste De Nile, which is a contemporary brass group formed by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony.
With dozens of recordings to his credit, Eric DeFade has played on two Grammywinning projects, and won an Emmy for his work on“ Live From Studio A.” In 2012, he was inducted into the Pittsburgh Jazz Hall of Fame. n

CLEARVIEW DONATES $ 7,500 TO VARIETY THE CHILDREN’ S CHARITY
In support of the southwestern Pennsylvania community, Clearview Federal Credit Union recently presented a check in the amount of $ 7,500 to Variety the Children’ s Charity. The funds were donated in the form of entry fees and prize raffles during Clearview’ s annual charity golf outing, which was held in August at Beaver Valley Golf Club in Beaver Falls.
At the golf outing, Perry Wayne of Beaver County spoke of the work being done by Variety the Children’ s Charity and Clearview’ s support of the organization, which, in part, has benefited his 10-year-old daughter, Keira. Keira received an adaptive bike and communication device from Variety the Children’ s Charity.

only Keira’ s life, but our whole family. Now she is able to ride bikes with her older brothers and is included in a family activity that we love. The communication device has great potential. We hope that as she learns how to use it more, it will be her voice to express her wants and needs,” Wayne said.
