How does Invisalign work?
Comfort and Technology
are Top Priorities for
King Orthodontics
K
ing Orthodontics, a family
business, has long roots in
the Pittsburgh area. North
Hills native Dr. Earle King opened
his practice on Perry Highway in
Wexford 40 years ago. His son, Dr.
Bryan King, joined the practice
in 2000 and together they have
been able to expand the practice
to include locations in downtown
Pittsburgh and now Bridgeville. Both
board-certified orthodontists earned
Dr. Earle King and Dr. Bryan King
their DMD from the University of
Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
Their goal of making patient comfort and technology top
priorities shows from the minute you enter the office. The patient
waiting areas are warm and inviting. The newest location in
Bridgeville provides custom banquette seating in the waiting area
and flat-screen TVs in the private treatment rooms. “We know the
lives of our patients and parents are very busy, and that is why we
strive to provide an atmosphere that is calm, friendly, and always
positive,” says Dr. Earle King.
Specializing in orthodontic treatment for adults and children, King
Orthodontics provides patients with a wide variety of options to
choose from, including traditional braces, Invisalign and Invisalign
Teen. Their continued commitment to the latest technology shows
with their use of the Itero scanner. Itero is a device that is used to
create a 3-D model of your teeth through a series of digital pictures
and, in most cases, replaces traditional goopy impressions.
King Orthodontics is the only Top 1% Provider of Invisalign in
Western Pennsylvania. In fact, in 2013 both Drs. Earle and Bryan King
received the Invisalign Pioneer Award for their work treating patients
with Invisalign. They also have presented nationally on the topic of
Invisalign. Dr. Earle King has participated as the expert in the “Ask
the Expert” webinar. Dr. Bryan King has presented at the Invisalign
National Summit to over 1,000 of the country’s orthodontists.
Currently he is on staff at Seton Hill University Orthodontic
Residency program, where he coaches the residents on how to use
the system with the most beneficial results. With over 4,000 cases
both completed and in treatment, their unmatched experience
allows King Orthodontics to treat some of the most difficult cases,
even those who were told they were not candidates for Invisalign.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a series of clear “aligners” that fit comfortably over
your teeth so there is no need for brackets or wires. They are custom
made and completely removable so they do not interfere with your
lifestyle.

Each set of aligners is worn for one to two weeks, with removal
only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Your teeth will move gradually
each week. You will only need to visit the office every eight to 10
weeks! The average treatment time is six to 18 months, and the
average number of aligners is between 18 and 30.
What is Invisalign Teen?
Invisalign Teen works the same as standard Invisalign but
offers some additional features that make it very appealing to
teen patients, and their parents! It allows for the growth of teens’
permanent teeth (second molars, plus first and second bicuspids).
So, as a parent, you can be assured that new, growing teeth won’t
deter your teen’s orthodontic treatment in any way. Moreover, teens
can start treatment even if all of his or her permanent teeth aren’t in.
Also, you don’t have to worry if your teen loses an aligner. Invisalign
will provide free replacements for up to six individual aligners lost...
just in case. You can learn more at www.invisalign.com/teen.
King Orthodontics truly is “the secret behind Pittsburgh’s most
confident smiles.” In addition to Invisalign and Invisalign Teen, the
doctors provide treatment for TMJ disorders, fit athletes with the
new Under Armour mouth guards, and use state-of-the-art metal
and clear braces.
