USCHS PRESENTS ‘ NEWSIES ’
Upper St . Clair High School ’ s spring musical , “ Newsies ,” had a completely sold-out run this spring ! This year ’ s show was directed by Dr . Stephen Torquato , USCHS social studies teacher . He and the show ’ s creative team selected “ Newsies ” for its large cast and upbeat message .
“ With nearly 40 speaking roles and a large ensemble that is the heart of the production , we were able to showcase students throughout the entire show ,” Torquato said . “ Additionally , ‘ Newsies ’ is a fast-paced show with a timeless message of teamwork , dedication , and empowering student voice .”
Nearly 130 students were involved with this year ’ s musical production , including on stage , on the crew and in the orchestra pit .
