New Faith-Based Preschool Coming to the South Hills
This fall , children in our area will have a new early childhood education option that aims to help not just them , but their parents and families as well . Crossroads Church on Boyce Road in Upper Saint Clair , which has been part of the community for 18 years , has operated a thriving preschool at their neighboring location in the West Hills of Pittsburgh for decades . Now they are expanding that experience and influence to their South location for the first time .
Crossroads Region Pastor Shawn Lehman shared , “ We love the people and families throughout our communities and are excited to offer a faith-based curriculum in a safe , clean , and fun environment that helps to raise children with an understanding of God ’ s Word and his love for them .”
Crossroads believes in helping children grow to be all that God created them to be , and so they focus on not only their school preparations , but on seven different areas that include : cognitive , creative , emotional , language , physical , social , and spiritual . The school will also offer many enrichment and resource opportunities , such as gym and library days , and speech , language , and occupational therapy screenings . The school will also be adding an outdoor play space and partnerships with local organizations such as the fire department , farms , and orchards for field trip opportunities .
At Crossroads , children not only receive a solid education that prepares them for kindergarten in partnership with local schools , but they also experience the love and care of a Christian environment where they are encouraged to be themselves and embrace that learning is fun .
Crossroads Preschool Director Ginny Melhorn shared , “ We are beyond excited to multiply our preschool success from the past 27 years to another location . Our passion and love for these children drives us daily to help them grow and develop the necessary foundation to reach their fullest potential for future learning . With God as our authority , we are committed to glorifying him in every aspect of partnering with families .”
Kelly , a current Crossroads West parent , shared , “ I recommend Crossroads to other parents because of the incredibly positive experience we ’ ve had this year . The teachers have been phenomenal with helping my daughter transition into school by being so kind , connected , and in-tune . There is such a welcoming , warm , family feel , and it makes me so comfortable sending my daughter to school ! They do adorable crafts and learn so much while being cared for by kind , experienced teachers . It ’ s a special place that we ’ re so happy to be a part of !”
Class options are available for up to 80 three- and four-year-old children in morning or afternoon sessions two to three days per week starting September 5 .
