Eight veterans will participate in the ride,
although the finalists have not been selected
yet. Berger says about 45 applications were
submitted and preference will be given to
veterans who served after 9/11 and were
wounded in combat.
“We want to take them all but we can’t,”
Berger says.
Those who are selected will be riding the
2016 Can-Am Spyder F3 limited edition
roadster. The participants will receive
training on how to operate the roadster and
equipment at no cost to them. The Can-Am
Spyder roadster is ideal because it has three
wheels and is more stable than a motorcycle.
It also has additional safety features and is
easy to ride, Berger says.
“It offers open-air thrills and the ability
to handle mile after mile,” he says. “It’s still
challenging and fun.”
The journey will follow secondary roads
that are more scenic and challenging than
highway driving, Berger says.
“It’s windier roads with more adventurous
riding,” he says. “It’s also the path less taken.
It’s a part of the United States you might not
see again.”
