CELEBRATE TARTAN DAY!
Pittsburgh’ s Tartan Day celebration will take place Saturday, April 11, from 10 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church— 2999 Bethel Church Road in Bethel Park.
Hosted by the St. Andrew’ s Society of Pittsburgh, the free family-friendly event honors Scotland’ s signing of its Declaration of Independence, and carries special significance this year since it’ s the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 250th anniversary of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
The day will feature vendors, food, clan representation, workshops, entertainment and raffles, with free admission and parking. Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Andrew’ s Society Scholarship Fund.
USC – BP ROTARY BREAKFAST CLUB MARKS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR
The Upper St. Clair – Bethel Park Rotary Breakfast Club celebrated another successful year of community giving following its 36th annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser, held in October at Bethel Park High School.
The event raised nearly $ 81,000 through meal sales and sponsorships from 94 local businesses, continuing a tradition that has now generated more than $ 1 million for the community since 1989.
With the help of volunteers and Bethel Park High School kitchen staff, 2,500 chickens were prepared, with meals served to residents and also donated to local organizations including City Mission, Meals on Wheels and senior housing facilities.
Funds raised will be distributed to local nonprofits during the club’ s annual Night of Giving this spring.
The USC – BP Rotary Breakfast Club meets weekly at 7 a. m. at The Porch at Siena, featuring guest speakers and discussions on timely and engaging topics. The club welcomes community members and organizations interested in presenting and sharing ideas to reach out and connect.
JOIN THE WOMEN’ S GOLF LEAGUE OF MT. LEBANON
The Women’ s Golf League of Mt. Lebanon is inviting women of all ages and skill levels to join for the 2026 season, which begins in April and continues through September.
Applicants should have some knowledge of the game and rules.
The golfers play nine holes on Tuesday mornings, teeing off between 7:15 and 9:30 a. m., and there’ s a designated person to assist with creating foursomes.

SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE SEEKS NEW PLAYERS
Registration is open for the South Hills Senior Softball League, which organizes games for players 55 and older.
Interested people can get information on how to register by emailing shssleague @ yahoo. com. Registration forms should be turned in by March 30.
The league, formed over three decades ago, attracts more than 150 players each year. Games are typically played at fields in South Park, Pleasant Hills, Baldwin, Brentwood, Bethel Park and Pittsburgh.
One division of the league plays on weekday evenings; another plays on weekday mornings. Teams in both divisions normally play twice a week.
Tryouts and a draft are held in April, and the dates will be communicated to registered players.
“ Our players get a chance not only to rediscover a game they love, but also to join a strong community of friends,” said Ron Sullivan, commissioner of the league.
Mt. Lebanon High School. More than $ 16,000 in cash awards will be available for outstanding young musicians.
Eligible applicants include instrumentalists under age 26( as of June 1, 2025) and vocalists under age 30. Students must be full-time music majors at a college, university, or music school— or graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a full-time music major program.
Applicants must also be legal Pennsylvania residents for at least one year, or out-of-state students who attend school in Pennsylvania and can provide proof of a PA address( such as a campus address, university mailing, or utility bill).
