COOL SPRINGS LAUNCHES
NEW FITNESS/ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE CENTER
If you’ve lived in the South Hills long enough, you might only know
Cool Springs as the golf center with the really fun miniature golf
course.
The reality is Cool Springs has 58 acres, and over the last couple
of years has been completely refurbished and designed to take
advantage of every one of those acres by way of building an
enormous indoor sports complex alongside its golf
offerings.
“In early 2014, we started refurbishing
the mini-golf course, turfing the driving
range and installing indoor golf
simulator rooms, and opened Phase
1 of the project in July 2014,”
said Tara Trenney, Director of
Operations for PCG Capital, the
commercial real estate business
that owns the complex. “By
mid-2014 the focus was on
Phase 2, which was to build
the 169,000-square-foot
indoor sports complex with
a fully turfed soccer field,
two basketball courts, fitness
and conference center. In
addition, Ches Anthony Catering
provides a banquet center and
performance café on the first floor.
The second floor is home to Allegheny
Health Network’s orthopaedic services
and sports performance centers.”
access to the facility’s courts and fields unless they are reserved by
other organizations for play. There are price discounts available for
seniors and military service people, and the facility is currently in the
process of receiving Silver Sneakers approval, along with Healthway
