This treatment, supported by a grant from the foundation and available at the St. Clair Hospital Cancer Center, helps reduce hair loss— a side effect that can deeply affect patients’ emotional well-being.
Using Amma™ devices, the therapy cools the scalp to limit chemotherapy absorption by hair follicles, with patients experiencing up to 50 % less hair loss.
