Pathways Hospice Pathways Hospice Appreciates Volunteer
Acknowledged for
Certification of
Nurses and Nurse
Aides
Pathways Hospice has been
recognized by the National Board for
Certification of Hospice and Palliative
Nurses (NBCHPN®) for its support of
staff specialty certification. Because
Pathways Hospice recognizes the
value and benefits of increased
knowledge, our agency provides
financial assistance as staff meet the
requirements for certification. We
are grateful to Allnutt and Resthaven
Funeral Services for providing
educational scholarships for three
staff members in 2012. Pathways
Hospice is pleased to participate in
this program, and appreciates the
acknowledgement from NBCHPN®.
Christopher Counts, was inspired to
volunteer at Pathways Hospice after
his grandfather received hospice
care at the end of his life. While
spending time with his grandfather,
Chris was able to experience firsthand
the benefits of hospice support. As
a medical student, he believes that
volunteering with hospice patients
will help in his role as a physician
caring for people facing different
health issues and end-of-life concerns.
As a volunteer, Chris has been
providing companionship to Pathways
Hospice clients in Columbine Care
West since the beginning of 2010.
He spends time with residents at
the facility who would benefit from
a friendly, interested visitor. We are
very grateful to Chris for sharing his
compassion and kindness.
