Letter from our
Chief Executive
Officer
The fall brings with it the start of the
holiday season; a time when we gather
with family and friends to show our
gratitude to those we value. I would like
to take this opportunity to express my
gratitude and thanks to our large family
at Pathways Hospice.
The Pathways Hospice family is very
special in so many ways. Each day
can be mentally and emotionally
challenging, but our staff faces their
days with compassion, strength and
professionalism with patients and their
loved ones. Many outside of the hospice
community may be fearful of life’s final
stage, but our staff perseveres and is
not afraid to be part of this important
stage of life. It takes a remarkable and
courageous staff to open their hearts
and minds to care for our patients. I
am indebted to them and I know our
patients and their loved ones value their
service. It is the men and women who
work at Pathways Hospice that allow
families to be fully present with their
loved ones at such an important time.
And because we don’t always have
time to express how much we value
those around us, Pathways Hospice
is presenting you with the Gratitude
Challenge. It’s an opportunity to tell 30
people in your life how much you care
with a message and inspirational quote.
Send one of the beautifully designed
postcards to one person each day for
one month. You’ll find the details in this
newsletter, as well as opportunities, like
Colorado Gives Day, to help the Pathways
Hospice family continue to provide
quality comprehensive health care for
those navigating the final phase of life’s
journey, and support for their families.
With gratitude,

A Vintage Affair
On Friday, Sept. 12, Wilbur’s Total
Beverage and Pathways Hospice
hosted the 13th annual “A Vintage
Affair” event at the Fort Collins
Country Club.
For more than a decade this event has
combined a classic wine tasting with
gourmet food, good company, and
celebrating the mission of Pathways
Hospice. In recent years, a beer
garden has been added to the event
making it one of the premier tasting
experiences in northern Colorado.
This year more than 300 patrons
packed the Fort Collins Country Club
and helped raise more than $40,000
to support programs provided by
Pathways Hospice. The funds raised
will be used to provide much needed
care for those without any form
of insurance coverage and
the financial means to
cover healthcare costs,
complementary services
The event was made
possible due to the
generous support from
these community partners:
that go above and beyond the basic
Medicare hospice benefit, and to help
to secure community-based hospice
care in northern Colorado well into
the future. In its history, “A Vintage
Affair” has raised more than $150,000
for Pathways Hospice.
“Wilbur’s is proud to be the title
sponsor of the 2014 “A Vintage Affair”
to benefit Pathway’s Hospice. Over
the past fifteen years, we have been
involved in thousands of charitable
events, but each year “A Vintage
Affair” stands out as our favorite
event and one that is very near
and dear to our hearts,” said Mat
Dinsmore, owner of Wilbur’s Total
Beverage. “Although Hospice is very
much overlooked on a day to day
basis, when our family needed their
services, they came through for
us, and we will always be
grateful and humbled.”
