Ian Knappenberger 6th Grader at St. John Vianney School What activities are involved with at St. John Vianney? I am involved in the Robotics Club, flag football, basketball and I hope to play baseball in the spring.   I am an altar server at Mass and even sing in the school choir. What is your favorite thing about your school? My favorite thing about SJV is of course my friends but also that I get to talk, learn and discuss my religion without worrying about offending anyone. We get to go to Mass every Wednesday and take the Eucharist, we go to confession once a month and live our faith daily! I like that. Do you have a favorite teacher? Tell us about him. I like all my teachers but my favorite would have to be Mr. Ryan Costello. He is my social studies teacher and football coach. I like him because he makes everything easy to understand by using relevant examples.  So it makes sense.  Tell us about your involvement in National Junior Honor Society? As I am in sixth grade, I am hoping to get into NJHS as it is for second semester 6th graders. In order to be accepted, I must keep my grades high and practice service to my community. I am excited for our Andre House project and for our Outreach Center to open early next year. These organizations are run by the Congregation of Holy Cross (where our priests come from). As a school, we make sandwiches for the homeless at Andre House and will work with underprivileged children when St John Vianney’s outreach center opens.  You Geo-Cache in your spare time, can you tell our readers a little bit about that? What does it all entail? How do you have fun with this with your family? Geocaching is a world wide scavenger hunt. People leave containers with useful items that are tracked via satellite (gps coordinates). The containers are different sizes but have one thing in common, a paper for everyone to sign that finds it. I have an app on my phone that helps me find them. My family will look for geocaches everywhere we go! Sometimes we have to hike for miles and climb mountains! It’s fun and makes me exercise both my body and mind trying to use the clues to find the container! What are your favorite
