I love all of the different ingredients and tasting the food. I like that Chef Whitney makes food that I can eat because I am gluten and nut free. Q. What is the most delicious thing that you have ever made? A. There are many but the most delicious was probably the brownies and the pumpkin cookies with frosting. Q. How many languages do you speak? A: I speak Mandarin, Chinese and Global Minds. Q. What do you like about preschool at Global Minds? A: I like Jefferson (our newfoundland dog), bubbles and playing! Q. Do you have an all time favorite food? A. My favorites are my grandpa’s steak, my dad’s fried rice, mint and vanilla ice cream and gluten free donuts. Q. What do you want to be when you grow up? A. An artist and a dancer who works at a hospital to help people. I also want to be a mom who cooks good food for my kids. Q. What does “wo jiao Wren” mean? A: Thats me! My name is Wren. Q. What do you like about your teacher Mrs. Chi Chi? A: We play yoga together and she helps me with stuff. Sometimes we blow bubbles outside! (Hands in the air and spinning). Q. What is your favorite thing about Camelback Desert School? A. I love the teachers because they are all so nice and caring. I love learning math, reading and science. They make learning fun with lots of projects. Brea atAusterlade 2nd Grader Camelback Desert School Benchmark School’s Coin Fundraiser The week of December 2nd the 3rd grade at Benchmark Elementary decided to hold a coin drive for the Philippines. The winner of the contest received one extra recess! One penny counted as a point. All silver and bills were negative points. The 3rd grade set out water jugs and the whole school tried to out donate each other. Morgan Vasiliauskas (pictured at left) said, “Raising money will help the Philippines recover from the typhoon.  We don’t like it when people are hurt or dying.” Braden Totman said, ”All of the buildings were crushed.  3rd Graders Counting We are counting the money to help them build back what they lost.” The 1st grade at Benchmark was awarded the free recess and all sorts of lessons were learned-sportsmanship, counting, and goodwill. Anthony Mustacchio thought it was important because the entire country was destroyed. “We are sending the money to the Philippines so they can rebuild their country.” Over $1000 was raised! 10 \ January 2014 inthezona.com
