Arcadia High School
Lacrosse
As a “club sport,” public schools do not provide funds, equipment
or practice facilities; those costs are passed on to the players. It
is a “pay to play” sport. In order to make lacrosse accessible to
all boys interested in playing, a couple of
dedicated parents formed a nonprofit
organization, Arcadia Lacrosse,
Inc., to allow for tax deductible
monetary and equipment
donations to help offset the
costs of the uniforms, field rental,
equipment purchases.
Freshman and experienced
lacrosse player, Grant Loftin
(pictured, left), has been actively
recruiting student athletes for the
team and stated, “I am excited about having
a lacrosse program at Arcadia. The enthusiasm for the sport is
awesome. I can’t wait to play this season with a lot of great athletes!”
When Austin Davidson (pictured, right), a junior at Arcadia, was
asked about playing on Arcadia’s new Lacrosse team he said,
“With hard work and dedication, I think Arcadia Lacrosse is going
to be great and I think by the time games start we will have a great
chance of winning.”
Q. What is your favorite part of the
Coking Club?
A. I love all of the different ingredients
and tasting the food. I like that Chef
Whitney makes food that I can eat
because I am gluten and nut free.
Q. What is the most delicious thing
that you have ever made?
A. There are many but the most delicious
was probably the brownies and the pumpkin
cookies with frosting.
Q. Do you have an all time favorite food?
A. My favorites are my grandpa’s steak, my dad’s fried rice, mint and
vanilla ice cream and gluten free donuts.
Q. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A. An artist and a dancer who works at a hospital to help people. I
also want to be a mom who cooks good food for my kids.
Q. What is your favorite thing about Camelback Desert School?
A. I love the teachers because they are all so nice and caring. I love
learning math, reading and science. They make learning fun with lots
of projects.
