Veterans Day at CLS E very year on Veteran’s Day, the students of Christ Lutheran School say thank you to worship with and learn about what it means to be a Veteran. The morning starts off with a special breakfast, hosted by the CLS Leadership team, which is a group of 6th – 8th graders who aspire to be strong Christian leaders in their classrooms, school and community.  This year, about 30 Veterans, from all branches of service were served a wonderful breakfast, while sharing their stories with the students and each other.  After breakfast, they were invited to attend a chapel service in their honor, where the student body learned the history of Veteran’s Day and the role this group of people have played in our history. The students were able to honor the Veteran’s with several patriotic songs, as well as appreciative applause.   At 11:00am, the entire student body met at the flagpole to lower the flag, observe a moment of silence and say a prayer of thanks for those who gave their lives for our freedom, before raising the flag.   Cooper Parson, a 6th grader, joined his grandfather Larry Stromberg at the breakfast. Larry served in the Army as a military police officer in Korea for four years.
