In the Works - Community Newsletter In the Works November 2019 | Page 6
Just a note to say thank you –
THANK YOU – for arranging
for the work crew that came
this morning to clear the top of
Ashton Street. The crew, headed
by Sonny McKinney, went right
to work, was cheerful, cleaned up
the area when they were done,
and the hill looks terrific! The
neighbors and I have more work
to do, but we can certainly finish
up what’s needed. community-building. This is the
first time extensive repairs and
maintenance have been done.
Without this work, it would be
impossible, going forward, to keep
the park viable and safe. Everyone
involved in this collaborative
effort went above and beyond
in the effort make the park an
inviting place to spend time with
our family members, fuzzy and
not so, friends and neighbors.
We SO appreciate your efforts
at coordination – we know it’s
never simple – and we’re looking
forward to maintaining a safe and
pleasant street area. Please accept our sincere “thank
you” for your dedication in
striking off every pain-point
from the list and rendering the
park clean and safe again. We
truly appreciate the long hours
Public Works spent in planning
and preparation and all the heavy
lifting that went in. We are certain
that the re-opening of the park,
with all the necessary fixes in
place, will attract new interest
in volunteering and, with all the
helping hands we will be able to
maintain the park. Our pooches
are grateful to have a fenced, safe
area to wander unleashed and
we are equally pleased with the
convenience.
Most sincerely,
Kathy B.
We are writing this note on behalf
of all the volunteers and board
members of the Rincon Hill
Dog Park to commend everyone
on the Public Works Bureau
of Urban Forestry crew for the
extraordinary efforts that were
put in to clean up, beautify and
completely overhaul the park’s
decomposed granite surface.
Before the overhaul, the park
was suffering with limited
lighting, rat infestation, gravel
unevenness/erosion and weed
growth. It’s been almost eight
years since the park was opened –
a unique collaboration involving
neighborhood residents, Caltrans
and the City. It is a great example
of the City and State supporting
Please pass on our gratitude
and thanks to Bureau of
Urban Forestry and the other
departments that have been so
active in keeping our park a great
place to be.
Sincerely,
Rincon Hill Dog Park Board
I just want to let you know what
an excellent worker you have
taking care of the 400 block of
Tehama Street.
I see this gentleman every day
and he is so detailed in cleaning
out the tree beds and in sweeping
both the sidewalk and street.
I always make a point to say
“thank you” whenever I walk by
him.
Thank you.
Brian W.
Thank you to San Francisco
Public Works and all responsible
parties for the newly installed
bulbout at the northwest corner
of the Clayton and Corbett
intersection. This bulbout is
much more attractive than I
ever thought it would be and, in
addition to improving pedestrian
safety, it also helps make that
corner more attractive and
inviting! I thank you for taking
my concerns seriously and
implementing these important
safety improvements.
Thank you again,
Sprague T.
