Although the Nov. 16 workday landed
before Thanksgiving, folks from across
the City were able to give back to their
community and give thanks to the beauty
of San Francisco.
Forest Hill, Ocean View and
other nearby neighborhoods at
the last Community Clean Team
of the year.
The workday, which was
co-sponsored by District 7
Supervisor Norman Yee’s office,
kicked off at Lowell High
School on Eucalyptus Drive.
From there, volunteers broke
off into teams to beautify a
total of 12 locations, ranging
from community gardens, to
street medians and commercial
corridors.
Volunteers were spotted planting
street trees at the intersection of
Ocean and Plymouth avenues,
removing graffiti along the
Great Highway, refreshing
street furniture on Junipero
Serra Boulevard, picking up
litter around Lake Merced and
pruning overgrown plants at the
Portola and Miraloma Triangle
median.
In addition to cleaning up public
spaces around the neighborhood,
our corporate partner, Recology,
provided bulky item disposal and
free compost to residents from
both District 7 and 5.

Everyone who came out to

This month’s Community Clean
Team wrapped up the 2019
season and served as the very last
workday of the decade!
And we’re already gearing up
for Community Clean Team
2020, when we’ll be celebrating
the 20th anniversary of Public
Works' largest and longest-
running volunteer program.
Community Clean Team will be
back on Jan. 11 to kick off the
new season in District 3 where
we’ll be touching up North
Beach, Chinatown, Fisherman’s
Wharf and other nearby
neighborhoods.
