Stess The Emcee was born Thomas Roach to a Military family. His eclectic sound gives credit to the different regions and countries he has lived. A fierce competitor had him on stages and in ciphers battling the most elite of MCs. He learned of his Hip Hop affinity at the age of four when he heard DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince’s album, He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper. By high school he was competing in online competitions, and by college he was recording music while hosting and performing shows. Post college he maintains a job as an on air personality at Blazin 1023, in Tallahassee Fl. It is arbitrion rated as the number one radio station in Tallahassee Florida. He landed the gig in 2005 based on a relationship forged with the then music director in 2003. While attending LaGrange College Stess The Emcee became the local freestyle champion. LaGrange Georgia is 4 hours away from Tallahassee Fl. For seven straight weeks, Stess traveled, battled, won, then drove all the way back to continue his studies. Sometimes he made the trip both ways in the same day. Eventually he landed a job, and now he can be heard seven days a week on commercial radio. He is either on the radio, on a stage, or in a recording booth. He is a Hip Hop encyclopedia. He once stated, “I am the future because I took time to learn so much of the past”
