31st Annual ROSE BOWL
January 10 and 11, 2015
Calgary Synchronized Skating Club is pleased to announce that it will once again
host the Rose Bowl Synchronized Skating Competition on January 10 and 11,
2015. The annual Rose Bowl has been a much anticipated event on the calendars
of synchronized skating teams across western Canada since its inaugural competition in 1983 at the Foothills Arena, Calgary. It is a competition the synchronized
skating community looks forward to year after year.
The event has grown steadily over the years, attracting an increasing number of participants. In
1983 10 teams with 180 skaters came to compete. By its tenth year the competition welcomed 36 teams
and 700 skaters. The 2014 Rose Bowl, hosted at the Max Bell Arena, Calgary, saw 32 teams with more
than 500 talented athletes showcasing their level of commitment, teamwork and skill in the sport of
synchronized skating.
Next year’s event, held again at the Max Bell Arena, will host teams from Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan which
will feature the levels: Beginner I, Beginner II, Elementary, Juvenile, Pre- Novice, Novice, Intermediate, Open,
Adult 1, Adult 2 and Adult 3. The two day competition will commence with an opening ceremony at 6:00 pm
on the Saturday and conclude with presentation of medals at 4:00 pm Sunday.
The success of a competition such as the Rose Bowl depends a great deal on the sponsorship of local businesses. The 2015 Rose Bowl Committee is grateful to our gold sponsors Westjet and Courtyard Marriot Calgary for their patronage and support.
We hope to see you in January at the Max Bell Arena, but in the meantime, CSSC would like to wish you all the
very best for the Holiday Season.
The Rose Bowl Synchronized Skating Competition will be held at the Max Bell Arena, 1001
