Exciting news! The new CanSkate on-ice station
signs are now available for purchase through the
Skate Canada Online Store.
The set consists of four signs depicting the
stations required on the ice for a CanSkate
session - Balance, Control, Agility and the Fun
Zone. These durable vibrant signs are made of
coroplast and include two grommets on the top
corners for easy hanging or mounting on the
boards or glass. Each sign measures 3 feet x 2
feet. The set comes with a handy carrying case.

Tips and Tricks from Tammy Greidanus
While out shopping the other day I came across an arrow in
the kids area of Ikea that would work great to indicate and
alternate the direction of your fast track!
Now that the new CanSkate program has officially
launched it’s a great opportunity to organize some fun
activities and special events which can be used to promote
CanSkate at your club and in your community. Be sure to
check out the CanSkate Launch ideas booklet available in
the Skate Canada Info Centre.
Some of my favorite promotion ideas include:
Being a part of existing events in your community i.e. Christmas or New Years celebrations, hockey games,
family skates etc. - showcasing the program live and/or setting up circuits for the public to try, or creating your
own event. Invite local celebrities, elected officials and the media - sprea d the word with posters and social
media and form partnerships with other groups to reach a larger audience!
