Homecoming Week 2025 kicked off in grand style on Friday, September 12, with the announcement of this year’ s Homecoming Court. Near the close of the school day, students gathered in the gym to cheer on their classmates as each nominee was called to center court and draped with a sash. This year’ s Homecoming Royalty were: Mackenzie Concannon, Paige Deklewa, Natalia Fittipaldo, Maria Gabriel, Annabelle Snyder, Donavan Goins, Connor Hiser, Justin Lau, Drew Welhorsky, and Tyson Wright.
From September 15 – 19, school spirit soared with themed days that energized the district. Pajama Day, Tacky Tourist, Future Careers, and the ever-popular Anything but a Backpack Day – which saw students hauling books in shopping carts, coolers, luggage, and even truck tires – brought plenty of creativity and laughs. Teachers joined in the fun as well, making every day a lively celebration of Lion pride.
On Thursday, September 18, the tradition continued with the 19th annual Homecoming Carnival, one of the community’ s favorite events of the year. Organized by the South Fayette Student Government, the carnival featured more than 30 clubs, sports teams, and booster groups, along with nine food trucks and the district’ s new Freight 2 Plate trailer. Families enjoyed games, inflatables, vendors, and activities throughout the evening, while the Little Green Machine marching band gave a crowd-pleasing performance that capped off the night.
Friday brought more excitement as the Lions claimed a 28- 7 victory over the Belle Vernon Leopards. At halftime, the spotlight turned back to the Homecoming Court, where Justin Lau and Mackenzie Concannon were crowned the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen.
The week concluded on Saturday, September 20, with the Homecoming Dance in the High School Gym. This year’ s Mardi Gras Soirée theme transformed the gym into a festive celebration and provided the perfect finale to an unforgettable Homecoming Week.
