Starting out the 2017- 2018 School Year... Service Strong... F rom visiting with residents at a local assisted living community to preparing for a middle school Halloween dance to benefit Animal Friends…members of both the South Fayette Middle and Intermediate School Lion Hearts Clubs have begun the year ready to make a difference in the community. Lion Hearts is also collaborating with Beverly’s Birthdays to host a Birthday in a Bag and Birthday Gift homeroom competition for grades 3 through 8. Beverly’s Birthdays is a Pittsburgh based non-profit organization with the mission of providing BIRTHDAY CHEER for children experiencing homelessness and families in need. Needed supplies have been assigned point values and the homeroom who accrues the most points will win a field trip to Beverly’s Birthdays for a special party. How can you support Beverly’s Birthdays? Check out: www.beverlysbirthdays.org or email [email protected]. The SFMS Lion Hearts Club continues to maintain a partnership with Genesis Rehabilitation and Country Meadows and visits with the residents on a monthly basis. If you have any questions or if your student is interested in joining Lion Hearts (and is in grades 4 through 8), please email Elizabeth Kline (at the Intermediate School) [email protected] or Dr. Conchetta Bell (at the Middle School) at [email protected]. 62 South Fayette
