High School Fall Production Showcases Student Performances
The third annual South Fayette Fall
Showcase will take place on Saturday,
November 19, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the high
school theatre. This show includes an original
one-act play written by South Fayette senior
Michaela Snider. Michaela developed the
play, titled “Platform Four,” during her theatre
class in a unit where students write original
plays to submit to the Young Playwrights
program sponsored by City Theatre. The play
focuses on both the positive and negative
impacts of an internet relationship between
two high school students.
In addition to the one-act play, there will
be 10 acts showcasing musicians and
dancers from the high school. This year’s
show will include an original song by junior
Anna Thompson titled “Nothing,” as well as a
contemporary Indian dance number. Many
other acts will highlight both solo and small
group dance numbers, as well students
playing instruments while singing wellknown songs.
Admission to the Fall Showcase is free, but
donations are appreciated and accepted for
the Save the Music Foundation. A portion of
the proceeds are sent to this organization
each year to continue the fostering of both
arts and music education in schools.
