South Fayette
Students Qualify
for TSA National
Conference
The Pennsylvania Technology Student
Association recently hosted its annual
state conference at Seven Springs from
April 10-13, 2019, and the South Fayette
TSA Chapter represented the District very
well with 29 competitors. The organization
engages students in a variety of STEM
projects and promotes student leadership
in STEM fields. Students in the following
three events have earned a qualifying
spot at the TSA National Conference in
Washington, DC from June 28 – July 2, 2019:
• First Place in the state for On
Demand Video the team of Haley
Allcorn, Joshua Francis, Patrick
Gannon, Nikhil Gudipalli, Zoe
Koutavas, and Joshua Milteer
• Second Place in the state for Photographic Technology, Joshua Milteer
• Second Place in the state for Prepared Presentation, Siddhartha Khajanchi
Top 10 finishers in the state included Priya Matreja, Sachi Shankargouda, and Smriti Wagle for Board
Game Design; Connor Maitland for Computer-Aided Design – Engineering; Pranav Dantu and Siddhartha
Khajanchi for Debating Technological Issues; Suraj Bokil for Extemporaneous Presentation; Joey Black,
Joshua Francis, and Zach Williams for Tech Bowl; Patrick Gannon and Zach Williams for Tech Bowl –
Written; and Yugal Kithany, Priya Matreja, Sachi Shankargouda, and Smriti Wagle for Webmaster. The
South Fayette TSA chapter is advised by James Hausman, high school English teacher.
