We are very pleased to report that the Spring 2017 edition of the Pittsburgh Business Times Guide to Western PA Schools has named the South Fayette Township School District as number one ( 1 ) in this year ’ s Honor Roll rank of the region ’ s top scoring districts for the third consecutive year . The District is also listed as third ( 3rd ) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania . This publication rates the academic performance of districts and schools in a seven county region and includes information on the public and private schools operating within those regions .

Excellence will continue to be pursued in academics , the arts , and athletics . Our greatest challenge is to continue to offer high quality academic programs and services in the ever-growing South Fayette community . We now have direct responsibility for 3,128 students with enrollments expected to continue by the start of school in August .
To accommodate our District ’ s growth and campus needs , the South Fayette High School renovation work facilitated by Eckles Architecture & Engineering and PJ Dick is nearing completion as workers continue to be fully engaged over the summer months so as to be prepared for the start of school . Information regarding the project is routinely reviewed and updates are provided at the Board of Directors Committee Meeting of the Whole .

Innovation and learning remain key to our future . The District Operational Planning Theme for the 2016-2017 school year , Exploration and Inventiveness , was largely successful as part of the Pittsburgh Region ’ s greater Remake Learning initiative . Please visit the Remake Learning website for exciting information and upcoming learning opportunities for children , families , and educators . South Fayette was fully engaged in the recent May 15- 26 , 2017 Remake Learning Days .
Through the generous support of a grant from the Grable Foundation , the South Fayette Township School District is working diligently to foster initiatives and learning opportunities for students and educators throughout the Pittsburgh and adjoining regions . South Fayette will once again host a Professional Development STEAM Innovation Summer
