He also knows how important it is to be an active member of the community. “Whether you come to Hickory Heights to play golf or dine at Sammy’s Pin High Pub, we want you to leave with a positive experience,” Depe said. “We’d love for you to come back again and again.” And come back they do-with 18 holes of championship golf, four PGA Professionals available for lessons, complete golf outing planning and a delicious lunch and dinner menu at Sammy’s Pin High Pub, Hickory Heights isn’t a course you play and leave. It’s a destination. The fully stocked golf shop has offerings from Ping, Titleist, Callaway, Taylor Made, Mizuno, Foot Joy and Adidas. Custom fitting is offered at no additional charge. Designed by awardwinning architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan, Hickory Heights has 18 beautiful holes of golf on 170 wooded acres with level landing areas, well manicured fairways and challenging greens with great views and water hazards. Scenic beauty abounds with creeks, ponds, and waterfalls that provide a challenging round of golf for all skill levels. “We have completed the renovation of 34 greenside bunkers. This involves removing the old sand, rebuilding the drains, and finally putting in the same quality-grade sand used by clubs like South Hills, St. Clair, and Nevillewood,” Depe says. “Mark Yates is our superintendant. Mark formerly was employed at The Club at Nevillewood. Our golf course was in fantastic shape last year. We purchased a roller for our greens and the impact was immediately felt. Our greens were definitely country club quality, with a stimp measurement of 11 to 12 feet,” said Depe. The recently remodeled banquet facility can accommodate 130 people, and is perfect for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, graduation parties or business meetings. We have a new Executive Chef. Chef David, formerly of “Davios” Restaurant in Beechview, has created an exciting new menu. “We offer over-stuffed sandwiches, and homemade pizza. We have expanded our dinner selections. Veal sautéed with Hot and Sweet Peppers, Colossal Lump Crab Cakes, Shrimp Scampi, as well as nightly specials,” Chef David says. “You can’t leave without trying one of our homemade desserts. Key Lime Pie, Cheesecake, Chocolate Torte with Chocolate and Almond Whipped Cream. Simply Awesome!” We manage the facility to provide courteous service. We treat people the way they want to be treated. The word of mouth has been paying off- Depe said golfers who haven’t played the course in years are coming back again and again, bringing their friends with them. “They’re telling their friends of the great golf experience they’re having at Hickory Heights,” Depe said. “You can’t buy advertising like that.” If you are looking to take a swing at Hickory Heights, the Club is located at 116 Hickory Heights Drive, Bridgeville, PA, 15017.
