EDUCATION
SPONSORED CONTENT
The arts play a vital role in education at Our Lady
of Grace Catholic School. Students have shown a great
enthusiasm to participate in the many opportunities offered.
All students are exposed to music and art classes weekly, but
in addition, middle school students have a drama class as part
of their curriculum and an after-school drama club is available
to 4th through 8th grade students. The drama club performs
in the fall as part of a Cabaret Dinner Theatre and in the spring
for a musical. These students recently attended a workshop at
the Byham Theater to learn from professionals in the field of
theatrical production. Students can be involved in all aspects
of the school productions, from set design to publicity.
The arts are also infused in the STREAM classes for
primary students. Including the arts as part of the
curriculum teaches children to be well-rounded thinkers and develop 21st century
skills. In addition to the creativity, collaboration and critical thinking necessary to
develop these skills, the arts develop confidence and cultural awareness.
An Open House will be held on March 31, from 12:30-2:30 p.m., showcasing
the fine arts at Our Lady of Grace School. All current and prospective families
are welcome to attend. Tours and information about Our Lady of Grace will be
available for all those interested in enrolling for the 2019-2020 school year.
