It is my pleasure to welcome you to the start of the 2021-22 school year and officially introduce myself to the greater South Fayette community . I consider it a true privilege to have been appointed your new Superintendent of Schools and to continue the legacy of the district ’ s Tradition , Pride , and Excellence .
Congratulations are extended to the entire school community as South Fayette Township School District was named as the top local district of the decade by the Pittsburgh Business Times . The district has earned a reputation for academic excellence by providing boundless opportunities and enriching learning experiences for students at all levels . This recognition reflects the dedication and talent of our Board of School Directors , faculty and staff , students , and families .
As we begin a new school year , we will continue to monitor safety guidelines and requirements set forth by the state , while maintaining a safe and student-focused learning experience for ALL of our students . We are committed to providing in-person activities and experiences in the coming year , but will monitor the CDC and Allegheny Department of Health recommendations in order to ensure a safe environment for all stakeholders .
I am especially proud of the work of our SHOUT students ( Social Handprints Overcoming Unjust Treatment ). From writing their own book to holding a summer conference to igniting other student SHOUT organizations in the region , SHOUT is leading the way in championing equality for all people . I look forward to working with these talented student leaders to continue to foster and cultivate a school community that welcomes , respects , and celebrates ALL students and community members .
Good luck to all of our student athletes and coaches . I am certain that your season will be successful due to your dedication and efforts over the summer months . And , best wishes to those who lead us in school spirit . I look forward to outstanding performances from our The Little Green Machine ’ s musicians and majorettes as well as to all of our Lion cheerleaders .
A special welcome is extended to our new South Fayette students and families and to our youngest Lions who will be joining us as they begin kindergarten . Very quickly , I learned that our school is the heart of the community . I encourage you to be involved in the many student and community events throughout the school year .
It is my hope that you will join me at many of the upcoming school events , games , matches , and concerts .
