As Chief of Orthodontics at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, he was instrumental in starting an orthodontic practice for the Army at Ft. Bliss, he provided care to patients with severe dentofacial discrepancies, and gained extensive experience in surgical orthodontic care. But after nine years in the military, Dr. Cable and his wife, Lori, decided it was time to move back home and open up a practice that was more relaxed and family-focused, choosing Shaler to be closer to family. “We believe in a relaxed atmosphere,” Dr. Cable said. “I want my patients to feel welcome and comfortable when they visit, not like they’re on an assembly line. Orthodontics needs to be patient-centered treatment, not one size fits all, and I strive to tailor treatment plans to match my patients’ esthetic goals while achieving a functional occlusion.” From misaligned teeth to TMD problems, Cable Orthodontics caters to patients of all ages, seeing just as many adults as young teens and children requiring early orthodontic treatment. It offers Invisalign and Invisalign Teen in addition to traditional and cosmetic clear braces. With two sons in the Shaler Area School District, Dr. Cable and Lori both emphasize giving back to the community. Their office is garnished with plaques recognizing their strong support of all of the local sports teams and thank-you letters from numerous community organizations. As past president of the Shaler Area Rotary, Dr. Cable received the Paul Harris Award, which is given to a Rotarian who has made an outstanding contribution to the community. His club’s efforts raised money for a Trac chair for a local veteran in need and for a grant project to supply backpacks with school supplies to kids in Millvale. Lori serves on the Counseling Advisory Committee for the school district, as a local business owner and as a parent. “We’re very community-based and we want to give back,” Lori said. “It’s rewarding to sponsor our local teams and clubs. We see our patients in the office, we see them competing on the field, having fun at school functions... It helps to strengthen our relationships within the community.” As a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Cable Orthodontics continues to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontic techniques, practices, and technology.
