MILLVALE DAYS
The 22nd Annual Millvale Days Celebration was held Sept. 15 through 17. The event was fun-filled for all ages and included a parade, car cruise, rides, food, music, games, rides, local business specials and enjoyment for the whole family. PROVIDENCE HEIGHTS ALPHA SCHOOL’ S 90TH ANNIVERSARY OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATION
Providence Heights Alpha School has been an enduring part of the community for 90 years. Established in 1926 by the Sisters of Divine Providence, Alpha has been providing a non-diocese Catholic education ever since. Today it is a vibrant community of Pre-K to 8th graders and a mix of multiple faiths and backgrounds.
This year, Alpha celebrated the 90th anniversary of its founding at Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 1 to 5 p. m. Admission was free, and activities included a bounce house, face painting, balloon twisting, crafts and more! Food and beverages were provided by North Park Lounge. Many entered for a chance to win several raffles, and prizes included a sports basket with tickets to upcoming Pittsburgh sporting events, an Alpha gear basket with spirit wear, and a chance to win the 50 / 50 raffle! This event was open to the public.

NHCO Annual Thanksgiving Food Collection
NHCO is collecting food items to create complete Thanksgiving meals to distribute to local families in need. Last year, nearly 800 local families received nourishing Thanksgiving meals. Items that make a meal include: grocery store gift cards of at least $ 15 for a turkey purchase, large boxes of stuffing mix and instant mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, easy pumpkin pie mix, evaporated milk, muffin mix, turkey gravy mix and napkins. Donations are accepted through Nov. 16, but preferably before Oct. 28 for a timely distribution. NHCO offices, including the main office

Garden Produce Accepted at NHCO’ s Pantries
NHCO welcomes donations of fresh produce from home gardeners who wish to share their excess garden bounty with neighbors in need. Donations can be dropped off at any NHCO office, Monday through Friday from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. ‘ Ask the Attorney’ Sessions for Low-Income Families
Free legal consultation for non-criminal issues such as divorce, bankruptcy, credit issues, family matters, rent disputes and more is available for families in need at NHCO locations the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p. m., except in the month of December. The next ATA session is Nov. 16 at NHCO Allison Park. Attendees MUST pre-register for sessions by contacting Brady at briedel @ nhco. org or calling 412.408.3830 x 3217.
NHCO General Volunteer Orientations
NHCO will host a Volunteer Orientation session at 10 a. m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, in NHCO Allison Park, located at 1975 Ferguson Road. Volunteers are needed for all sites. Needs include drivers for Free Rides for Seniors shuttles, Salvation Army bell ringers in November and December, drivers
