NHCO Now Offers Online Registration for Volunteering to Help Seniors
North Hills Community Outreach now has an easy online registration process for those who wish to volunteer to help seniors . Those interested in volunteering for NHCO ’ s In Service of Seniors : North Program can visit nhco . org / volunteer-opportunities / volunteerhelp-seniors / and follow the easy stepby-step registration process . Volunteers are needed to help seniors get to doctor appointments , do grocery shopping , do light yard work , drive shuttles and more . For more information , call Cathy at 412.307.0069 x 3313 .
NHCO Collecting Spring Cleaning Supplies
North Hills Community Outreach has been collecting spring cleaning supplies to distribute to the families who use its three food pantries . Items are accepted year round . Items needed include : laundry detergent , antibacterial wipes , all-purpose cleaner , toilet bowl cleaner , dish detergent , packs of sponges and paper towels . Canvas shopping bags are also appreciated . Please donate Monday through Friday , 9 a . m . to 4 p . m ., at NHCO Allison Park located at 1975 Ferguson Road in Hampton or at NHCO North Boroughs , AGH-Suburban Campus at 100 S . NHCO Collecting Safety Items for Seniors
NHCO volunteers conduct free “ Safety for Seniors ” home safety checks . As part of the home visit , the volunteer gives the senior a bag of simple safety items that can be used to help keep the home safe . Items needed include new : 9-volt batteries , smoke detectors , baking soda , non-slip bath mats , night lights and grab reachers .

THREE LOCAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS MERGE INTO BLESSED TRINITY ACADEMY
The Catholic schools of St . Mary of the Assumption ( Glenshaw ), St . Bonaventure and St . Ursula will be merging into one regional school – Blessed Trinity Academy – for the upcoming school year . This new Catholic school will bring together over 300 years of educational excellence at the St . Mary campus ( K through 8th grade ) and the St . Bonaventure campus ( preschool ). The school will be open for the 2017-2018 school year and is currently taking registrations for both campuses .
