“Sliders is the first and only venue for competitive bar-style
curling in Pittsburgh,” says Deasy. “There are plenty of places
where you can hang out with friends and drink some beer, but
only one where you can glide big hunks of granite across an ice
rink at the same time.”
Currently there is only one location—right outside the
LumberjAxes building in Millvale, at 2 Sedgwick Street. Sliders’
curling rink is outside, with a tent for weather protection, but the
beauty of being right next to LumberjAxes is that guests can go
inside and warm up at the bar—currently BYOB, with full bar
service coming soon.
“We love seeing people try something new and really get into
it,” adds Deasy. “Especially in the winter, it’s great to see friends
and families outside having fun together.”
