SHALER TOWNSHIP 2018 PROPERTY TAX INFORMATION
Please be advised that there will be a new billing and payment schedule for the 2018 Shaler Township property tax bills. In past years, your property tax bill has been a combined Township and Shaler Area School District tax bill. This combined bill has allowed you to pay your property tax bill at discount or at face value equally in four installments.
EFFECTIVE WITH THE 2018 CALENDAR YEAR property tax bills for the Township of Shaler will be separated from your Shaler Area School District bill. The mailing date for the Township of Shaler property tax bill will be April 1st, with May 31st as the due date for discount. There will be no payment plan for the Township of Shaler property tax.
MILLAGE: In 2017, the average assessed valuation of a residential home in Shaler Township was $ 126,790. With the current millage rate of 2.49 mills, the average Shaler Township resident will have an annual property
tax bill for Township taxes of $ 315.70. Shaler Township has the 12th lowest property tax rate amongst 131 Allegheny County municipalities for the 2017 calendar year.
This information is based upon the 2017 Millage Rate chart published by the Allegheny County Treasurer. Shaler Township strives to maintain a reasonable tax burden for its’ residents while delivering quality municipal services.
DUE DATES: This new tax billing system and due date will provide improved cash flow for the Township of Shaler. It will also allow residents a more balanced tax burden as Allegheny County taxes are due on March 31st, the Township tax will be due May 31st and the Shaler Area School District will be due August 31st.
