Shaler Area High School Presents ‘Anything Goes’
Shaler Area High School students presented the classic musical “Anything Goes” for two
weekends—February 23 through 25, and March 2 & 3.
“Anything Goes” infuses comedy and drama as it follows a cast of characters and their
adventures aboard an ocean liner. Senior Jake Bartosh played Billy Crocker, a stowaway in love
with heiress Hope Harcourt (sophomore Kelsey Marshall), who is engaged to Lord Evelyn
Oakleigh (sophomore Alex Almonte). Crocker befriends nightclub singer Reno Sweeney (played
by senior Emily Yuretich), and gangster Moonface Martin (senior Zach Reed), who help him in
his quest to win Hope’s affection.
“Anything Goes” paved the way for musical theater with its intricate song and dance numbers,
featuring the music and lyrics of Cole Porter. More than 130 students, including the cast, crew
and orchestra brought this show to life on the Shaler Area High School stage.
