Dr. D. Dean Weaver, assumed his additional role as Moderator for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC). The EPC’s General Assembly, held June 20 through 23 this year in Sacramento, California marked the beginning of Pastor Weaver’s new position to lead the denomination at the assembly. “I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to serve the Lord and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church,” said Dr. Weaver. “It’s a great honor and responsibility.” Each year, the EPC holds its General Assembly for leaders, members and visitors to come together to worship, get refreshed and equipped, connect with one another and make decisions on actions or issues that affect the whole of the EPC. This year, the denomination gathered at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church for scheduled worship times and planning sessions, along with s everal leadership seminars offered throughout the course of the conference. As part of the Presbytery of the Alleghenies, Memorial Park Church’s leadership is thrilled at the prospect of one of its own being honored with this position. The EPC has expanded in the last few years to include over 600 churches, and Dr. Weaver has had a personal hand in that growth.
