A MESSAGE FROM THE RESERVE TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT
It is strongly advised that parents who are taking their children to school be aware of the child restraint laws and stop for school buses when the red lights are activated. The police department monitors traffic to and from Reserve Primary School.
In Pennsylvania children under 2 must use rear-facing car seats, while children ages 2 through 8 must use a forward-facing or booster seat, but should remain in the back seat until age 13. An adult seatbelt alone is acceptable for children 8 years and older, though a booster is recommended until the seatbelt fits properly.
Pennsylvania Child Restraint Laws
• Under Age 2: Children must be secured in a rear-facing car seat.
• Ages 2 to 8: Children must be in a booster seat, either high-back or backless, or a forward-facing car seat with a 5-point harness.
• Age 8 and Older: Children must wear a standard seatbelt. eserve RESERVE TOWNSHIP NEWS
