NICHOLAS RUDOLPH EARNS EAGLE SCOUT AWARD
Nicholas Rudolph of Shaler Township earned Scouting America’ s highest rank when he successfully completed the Eagle Scout Board of Review on March 4.
The son of Chris and Cathy Rudolph, Nicholas led a team of youth and adult volunteers in planning and constructing four sets of stairs for the auditorium stage at Shaler Area High School.
Nicholas is active in the music and drama programs, so he was aware of the disrepair of the previous stairs. They had become a hazard. Multiple performers, musicians, stagehands and others use the stairs hundreds of times during practices, rehearsals and performances.
After a couple of design changes along the way to accommodate aesthetics and portability, the new stage stairs will be in use for many years to come.
A senior at Shaler, Nicholas has his sights set on a four-year university with a focus on accounting. The discipline developed through his scouting experience and undertaking an Eagle Scout service project has contributed to his drive to pursue a financial career.
He also credits his time and leadership opportunities as a member of Troop 17 in the Japeechen District for his desire to excel. His journey through the Scouting program has prepared him for what lies ahead.
