WHAT’ S NEWS IN SEWICKLEY
SEWICKLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CELEBRATES THE CHRISTMAS SEASON
What opportunity does the promise of“ good news of great joy for all people” present in 2017?
The Sewickley United Methodist Church believes the opportunity— revealed in Luke 2— is as elastic and electric as it was in the first Christmas season. Some need to unwrap it again, while others need to wrap it and share it as a gift, and a few need to bake it into the holiday.
SUMC, located at Thorn and Broad streets, embraces all, offering a contemporary service at 9 a. m. and traditional service at 11 a. m. Sundays during the Advent season.
On Christmas Eve, a blended morning service at 10 a. m. will be offered with a candlelight contemporary service at 5 p. m., and a traditional service at 7:30 p. m.
The SUMC children will present a Christmas pageant at both services on Dec. 10. The Fellowship of the Cross youth group will lead a Christmas caroling adventure visiting homebound residents on Dec. 17. The traditional cookie walk will open at 9 a. m. on Dec. 16, and please don’ t delay. The homebaked cookies sell out quickly!
