SPONSORED CONTENT BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT SPONSORED CONTENT Tapestry Senior Living Bringing Unparalleled Senior Care to Moon Township T his summer, the property that was formerly the Embassy Suites in Moon Township will be reborn as Tapestry Senior Living, a 224-apartment senior living community that not only promises its residents an active lifestyle, but also the ultimate in senior safety. Of the 224 units in the building, 93 are dedicated to memory care and 131 are assisted living. Tapestry takes a unique and optimistic view on memory loss treatment, offering the nationally acclaimed Music & Memory program, which utilizes music as a valuable healing tool for folks who have Alzheimer’s and other related conditions. What’s more, Tapestry has officially partnered with Moon Township’s Senior Center, which will be housed within the building, making Tapestry Senior Living one of the most active senior living facilities in the region. With more than 2,000 square feet of event space, Tapestry residents will be able to attend all events put on by the Moon Senior Center. They also have their own bus for off-site excursions. Another perk Tapestry Senior Living offers is the Anytime Dining plan. Rather than having set mealtimes, residents can eat as much as they want whenever they want from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily. “Anytime Dining is more than just a meal plan,” said John Sciulli, Business Development Coordinator for Tapestry. “It gives seniors autonomy over their lives. They choose when they want to participate in an activity or eat when they feel hungry, not when we tell them to. I’ve been in healthcare for over 20 years and joined Tapestry because they’re doing everything right. This is the way senior living should be done. From daily pharmacy deliveries, to onsite physical therapy, to the pool and activities available, our residents enjoy the highest quality of life and everyone here is proactive in keeping them in their home for as long as they can. “Tapestry Senior Living prides itself on having a 5-minute response time for all alarms,” he added. “When you hear stories about other senior facilities where staff don’t respond to call buttons or about people stuck in bathrooms for 30 minutes, that doesn’t happen at Tapestry.” Part of the standard of safety includes the SilverSphere Safety Alert Monitoring, an infrared monitoring system that keeps residents safe 24 hours a day through a network of sensors that work off of heat signatures to keep resident privacy intact. “It lets us know if a resident gets up at night, for example, so that our nurses can keep an eye on them to make sure they get back to bed safely. If needed, our beds will have incontinence sensors as well, which triggers the nurse’s station,” Sciulli said. “Within 5 minutes, the beds will be cleaned, which cuts down on odors, bedsores and infections. The technology we have in place is state of the art and outstanding in the industry.” Sciulli added that residents still can utilize body-worn call buttons for assistance if they so choose, and a network of cameras in public spaces will allow staff to monitor residents anywhere on the premises.
