This workshop thoroughly covers the importance and benefits of composting, the process, setting up a compost pile, proper maintenance and ways of using finished compost. Participants will receive a FreeGarden EARTH compost bin (82 gal.) with attendance. Presented by the ED Talks: For the Love of Soil Wednesday, March 13, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Can you smell it? Healthy, rich, living soil. The unique smell is because soil is a living and complex ecosystem with an abundance of biodiversity. Learn the difference between soil and dirt and how the billions of living organisms found in soil play a role in the soil ecosystem. Adaptive Storytime Saturday, April 27, 2 to 2:45 p.m. This program is ideal for preschool children who are differently abled, may be on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing issues or feel overwhelmed by noises or crowds. This inclusive program of stories, songs, activities and free play is welcoming and will adapt to your child’s needs.
