TRAIL LIFE TROOP HONORS HEROES AT SEWICKLEY MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
During the Sewickley Memorial Day Parade, members of Trail Life USA Troop PA-1207 proudly carried the parade banner for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Their service, discipline, and visible patriotism honored the memory of those who gave their lives for freedom. The troop’ s support helped the organization represent the legacy of patriot ancestors with pride and dignity.
The Sons of the American Revolution expressed deep gratitude for the troop’ s meaningful contribution and commended them for inspiring others through their example of respect and remembrance.
SEWICKLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY CELEBRATES STORYTIME ROOM GRAND OPENING
On May 31, the Sewickley Public Library welcomed families and community members to celebrate the grand opening of its newly renovated Storytime Room.
The event kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a. m., followed by children’ s crafts for all ages and light refreshments for guests.
Made possible in part by the support of the Child Health Association of Sewickley and the Friends of the Sewickley Public Library, the room’ s opening marked an exciting new chapter for the library’ s youngest readers.
SEWICKLEY FARMERS MARKET OPEN EVERY SATURDAY THROUGH FALL
The Sewickley Farmers Market is in full swing and will continue to operate every Saturday from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m.( rain or shine) through the last Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Held in the St. James parking lot, the market features fresh local produce, homemade goods and more— all in a welcoming, pet-free environment( ADA service dogs permitted).

MICHAEL SEXAUER NAMED CEO OF HOLY FAMILY INSTITUTE
Michael Sexauer has been appointed chief executive officer of Holy Family Institute( HFI), becoming the first lay leader in the organization’ s 125-year history.
Sexauer, who has served as HFI’ s president since 2022, succeeds Sister Linda Yankoski, CSFN, who now transitions to president emerita after more than 40 years of transformative leadership.
Sexauer began his tenure with HFI in 2015 and has held leadership roles that include executive director of the Holy Family Foundation and chief operating officer. His appointment reflects a continued commitment to HFI’ s mission of supporting vulnerable families in the Pittsburgh area.
Board Chair Staci Brogan said,“ We are deeply grateful to Sister Linda for her visionary leadership … and equally confident in Michael Sexauer’ s ability to lead us forward.”
In his new role, Sexauer aims to expand access to wraparound services, strengthen community partnerships, and ensure that families have the tools they need to thrive.
HFI, along with its affiliated school Nazareth Prep, continues to offer a range of innovative educational and social services, having supported more than 41,000 children and families in the past year.
INCHES NURSERY TO HOST FAMILY- FRIENDLY FALL FEST
Mark your calendars for two festive Saturdays this fall! Inches Nursery will host its annual Fall Fest on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m.
This free event features family fun for all ages, including a corn maze, haunted house, petting zoo, bake sale, face painting, local vendors, raffle baskets and more. You can even enjoy special treats, with Kona Ice on Sept. 27 and The Roaming Bean on Oct. 4.
Guests are encouraged to contribute monetary or non-perishable food donations to benefit the local food bank. While you’ re at the nursery, get your home ready for fall with a wide selection of pumpkins, mums, corn stalks, straw bales and festive indoor / outdoor decor.
