Sewickley Library UPCOMING PROGRAMS For Kids: Unicorn Party - Wednesday, Sept. 18, 6 to 7 p.m. Calling all unicorn fans! Join us to make adorable unicorn crafts and read unicorn stories. GRADES K-3 American Girl Saturday: Sage - Saturday, Sept. 21, 1 to 2:45 p.m. It’s American Girl Saturday. Join us as we explore our artistic side and learn about the 2013 Girl of the Year: Sage. GRADES K-5. Adaptive Storytime - Saturday, Sept. 28, 2 to 2:45 p.m. This program is ideal for preschool children who are differently abled, may be on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing issues or feel overwhelmed by noises or crowds. This inclusive program of stories, songs, activities and free play is welcoming and will adapt to your child’s needs. Directly following the program, children will have the opportunity to play, while parents can chat and network. PRESCHOOLERS & THEIR FAMILIES. PAW Patrol Halloween - Saturday, Oct. 19, 1 to 3 p.m. Celebrate this spooky holiday with your favorite search-and-rescue dogs with a snack, craft, and a viewing of “PAW Patrol Halloween Heroes” (rated NR). FAMILY PROGRAM. Marshmallow Science - Saturday, Nov. 16, 1 to 1:45 p.m. Learn science concepts with everyone’s favorite treat! Complete the Marshmallow Challenge, learn what happens to marshmallows in the microwave, and build your own marshmallow catapult. GRADES K-5. Illustration Exploration: Lois Ehlert - Monday, Sept. 16, 6 to 7 p.m. Every month we’ll be talking about a new illustrator and this month it’s Lois Ehlert, author/illustrator of “Leaf Man,” “Snow Balls,” and “Planting a Rainbow.” We will be reading books illustrated by Ehlert, speaking about her art style and then the whole family will get to explore stations at their own pace! Scream Scene 2019 - Saturday, Oct. 19, 8 to 10 p.m. Our annual Halloween party is BACK! Get ready for thrills, chills and all the candy you can find – plus mysterious messages, tarot readings, karaoke, creepy crafts, games and MORE. Bring your friends and don’t forget your Halloween costume! FREE and open to all students in grades 6-12. Easels ‘N Eats - Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Calling all art and food lovers! We’re teaming up with the Children’s Department for a paint-along party just for tweens!
