MATT MERTZ
PLUMBING, INC.
S
A Plumber Who’s Like Family
ince 2004, fourth
generation master
plumber Matt
Mertz has been fixing
the drips across the
region.
A family-owned and
operated company
that has grown to 42
employees, it’s one of
the few places where
you can call for help
when you need it and
will probably get owner
Matt, or his wife, Lisa,
on the line to help you
directly.
“We’re very customer
oriented and down to
earth,” Lisa says. “If you call after hours for emergency service,
you’re either going to get Matt or myself picking up the phone,
and that’s something our customers appreciate about us.”
As a North Hills company, and a North Hills resident, Matt
Mertz also has a strong devotion to the community that
supports him. He recently made a generous donation to the
North Hills athletics, and supports the community at large in
similar ways.
And while the company does appreciable business with
commercial plumbing, residential plumbing is still the daily
“bread and butter” for Matt Mertz Plumbing.
“We handle anything and everything, from a drippy faucet to
toilet replacement to a full utility line replacement and more,”
says Lisa. “We’re certified, insured and bonded. We have our
own equipment and do all
jobs personally ourselves.
You’re not going to find
subcontractors working on
our jobs, which allows us to
keep our prices affordable
for our customers.”
One of the more
unique services offered
by Matt Mertz Plumbing
is trenchless sewer
replacement, which
can save homeowners
thousands of dollars
on sewer line work. The
process essentially threads
an inner sleeve through
a failing sewer line.
Once installed, the
sleeve is inflated and
steam cured, creating
a hardened new pipe
within the old, broken
pipe. The work carries
a lifetime guarantee
and avoids the need for
people to dig up their
yards or break through
concrete driveways
and sidewalks — work
that can easily rack up
expense and create
eyesores. What’s more,
many communities
require that sewer
lines be functioning
and intact upon selling a home, so these repairs can come at
inopportune times when time is of the essence.
“Not many companies can offer this type of work, and it
can reduce repair times immeasurably for the homeowner,”
Lisa notes. “Sewers can be 10 feet deep at times, and people
may need to dig up to 50 feet of line. They may need to get a
municipal bond and road workers to direct traffic if their line
goes under a roadway, which requires money and permits.
Trenchless replacement can do the same work in a few hours.”
What’s more, the liner is a complete, form-fitted solution.
There are no joints that can weaken over time and no places
for tree roots to infiltrate to cause future headaches. Once in
place, homeowners don’t have to worry about using special
drain cleaners or plumbing techniques — they can still use their
off-the shelf products to
clear any clogs or buildup.
Matt Mertz Plumbing
offers 24/7 emergency
service, Saturday and
Sunday service, and is top
notch when it comes to
insurance work, dealing
directly with the insurance
companies so you don’t
have to.
