Hospital here in Ross. All of this has helped to
make the K-9 program thrive and continue to be a
success.
Once the training and certification process is
complete, Jimy will be sworn in as an officer of
the department and begin his patrolling of the
Township along with his partner.
Officer Allenbaugh joined the department in
September of 2013.
Officer Allenb augh grew up in nearby Murrysville.
Upon graduating high school he enlisted in the
United States Army serving for 9 years and 2
combat tours spanning over 2½ years in Iraq.
Officer Allenbaugh has 7 years of police
experience with the last 4 years of service with
the Ross Township Police Department. Prior to
being selected as a K9 handler, Officer Allenbaugh
spent the prior year and a half participating and
working with the department’s
K9 program. He worked with
the training group, assisting in
the training of Ross Township
K9’s Cezar and Neeko, as well
as several other dogs from
neighboring departments.
He also attended a one week
training course taught by
renowned K9 trainer Franco
Angelini, learning the proper
techniques of how to decoy for
police dogs.
Officer Allenbaugh enjoys the
outdoors, hunting, fishing and
spending time with his family
when he is not working. He
is married with two children.
K9 Jimy lives with Officer
Allenbaugh’s family and his
daughters Gemma and Tenley
enjoy assisting their daddy with
the care and additional training
of K9 Jimy at home.
