NORTH PITTSBURGH QUILTERS GUILD TO HOST QUILT SHOW
The North Pittsburgh Quilters Guild( NPQG) is hosting a quilt show,“ Celebrating 250 Years of America,” Sept. 11 – 13 at Ross Township Community Center, 1000 Ross Municipal Drive.
The hours are 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p. m. on Sunday. Admission is $ 10. The show will have vendors, raffle baskets, a raffle quilt and a Treasure Chest filled with fabric and other quilting items.
NPQG is a nonprofit whose main goal is to further the quilting skills and knowledge of its members. It accomplishes this goal through programming, local and national speakers, workshops, lectures and a sewing retreat. The guild also participates in community service projects including making quilts for foster children, Quilts of Valor, blankets for women’ s shelters and items for cancer patients.
The organization was founded in 1981 when women from a community college quilting class decided they wanted to continue to learn and grow as a group. Members are all ages and levels of experience, and the group is always looking for new members who want to enhance their quilting journey.
