COMMUNITY Officer Nathan Roy was born in Hornell, New York and attended the College at Brockport, SUNY where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Officer Roy’s previous police experience includes working part time for the boroughs of Delmont and Oakmont before obtaining a full time position with the City of Duquesne. Officer Roy also currently serves in the Army Reserves as a Sergeant with the 307th Military Police Company in New Kensington. His last deployment assignment was that of a cell block leader in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he was responsible for overseeing several high value detainees. As a member of the Ross Township Police Department, Officer Roy looks forward to honing his skills as a Patrol Officer and someday becoming a member of the North Hills Special Response Team. Another local resident, Officer Kevin Novak grew up in Ford City, Pennsylvania. Officer Novak’s education includes a degree in Business/Accounting along with being certified as a Project Manager from Villanova University. Before becoming a Police Officer, he spent 5 years working for an engineering firm for the coal industry. His prior police experience includes employment with Frazer Township, Cheswick and Freeport Boroughs before being hired full time with the City of Butler. While at Butler, Officer Novak worked with the Butler County Drug Task Force. With Officer Novak’s background he hopes to continue to fight the issues surrounding the use of illegal drugs within our community. Officer Troy Modrak is a graduate of Norwin High School, North Huntington, Pa. Before beginning his career in law enforcement, Officer Modrak attended nursing school. As for his police experience, Officer Modrak worked for the Borough of Pitcairn before being hired by Ross Township. In his spare time, Officer Modrak enjoys reading and working out. With so many different and exciting opportunities offered as a member of the Ross Township Police Department, Officer Modrak is keeping his options open on any specialized assignments or duties. As you can see, each one of these new officers is ready to continue our mission of the Ross Township Police in providing the utmost in professional law enforcement service to the community for which we serve based on the principles of high ethical and professional standards.
