Journey of Hope Art Exhibit at Sweetwater Center for the Arts Dates: June 20–July 20 Address: 200 Broad Street, Sewickley Contact: sweetwaterartcenter.org Throughout 2019, Sweetwater has been honored to work with the children of Holy Family Institute’s Journey of Hope program. This program offers shelter, food, clothing, counseling, recreation, and education to children, many of whom are in search of a brighter future. During the children’s time at Sweetwater, they experimented with a variety of media and styles, and were exposed to art making as a means of expression. The Journey of Hope exhibition will showcase a selection of the artwork created. The finish line festival will include great food, entertainment, and fantastic raffle items! Proceeds benefit the Pennies from Heaven Fund, founded by Joni and Jon Perry of Marshall Township, which helps to ease financial hardships for parents so that they can stay with their children in the hospital. You can run or walk among quiet residential streets. A new division has been added for Rucking—competing with a weighted backpack—and one for adults pushing jogging strollers. Fifty-two medals in all will be given out. Participants registered by May 12 are guaranteed a shirt. Live music, ice cream, face painting and a photo booth will be available.
