School Musicians
Selected for
All-State Band
and Orchestra

orth Hills High School musicians were chosen to participate
in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA)
All-State Band and All-State Orchestra.
Senior Arran Collins – clarinet and junior Emily Kaup – French
horn represented North Hills in All-State Band and seniors
Stephanie Latona - violin and Brandon Falcona – viola did so in
All-State Orchestra. They attended the PMEA All-State Conference
in Hershey in early April where they joined with other talented
musicians to form the state’s best high school orchestra and band.

The musicians advanced to the state festival after successful
auditions at the PMEA Regional Orchestra Festival and the
PMEA Regional Band Festival. Students were judged on rhythm,
musicianship and pitch accuracy among other factors.

get students excited about their studies
than the second annual Back to School
Bash on August 7 from 2 to 5 p.m. at
the Ross Township Community Center?
This free carnival-style event sponsored
by North Hills Christian Church and
Thrivent Financial is a great way to kick
off the back to school season as kids
play games to win school supplies!

Families can enjoy games, prizes, bounce
houses, crafts, haircuts, face painting,
wacky educational demonstrations and
more. The event is geared for children
in kindergarten through Grade 6, but
everyone is welcome. No registration is
required, but attendees are asked to bring
a donation for the North Hills Backpack
