Get outside and get to know your city this summer! CSCL has started an excursion group that will visit museums and other Pittsburgh locations once a month. Registration for all trips is required, and there may be an admission fee from the attractions. Contact CSCL’ s Reference Department for details.
Beechwood Audubon Explorers Camp and Audubon Trailblazers Camps for Kids

Jump like a toad, zing like a dragonfly and sway like a tree! Explore forest, field and pond for birds and bugs, frogs and foxes. Make nature crafts, play games and get dirty along the way.
Audubon Trailblazers is for children entering 3rd through 6th grade this fall. Observe, identify, explore and make a difference in the world. The group will contribute to real-world citizen science by studying butterflies, birds, plants and more. Each week, special projects will make the reserves better for plants, animals and people. Big Butler Fair

Nine big days of games, food, animals, concerts and fun! This is the largest fair in western Pennsylvania and considered by many to be the best fair in the country. It is proud to be a symbol of American family values. Year after year, families from all over Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia come to the Big Butler Fair to enjoy fireworks, the midway, games, demolition derbies, concerts and truck pulls. Enjoy super-duper fun activities planned this summer for the whole family. Lego Days: LEGO blocks of all shapes and sizes. Come and build with your friends and family Saturday, June 11, July 9 and Aug. 13 from 2 to 4 p. m. All ages. Movie Nights: Showing the newest family-friendly flicks this summer! All films will be shown in the Children’ s Room from 6 to 8 p. m. on Wednesdays, June 15, July 13 and Aug. 10. Movie titles will be announced at a later date. All ages. Retro Outdoor Gaming: On Wednesday, June 22, and Wednesday, July 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m., join in the Welcome garden for old-fashioned games. There will be hula hoops, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk and bubbles with tag, leapfrog and so much more( weather permitting)! All ages. Board & Card Games: On Saturday, June 25, and Saturday, July 23, from 2 to 4 p. m., freshen up your competitive skills while battling it out playing Scrabble ®, Uno ® and other board and card games during this monthly tournament.
