N students to go when they don’t have anyone to play with or know quite how to join in on playground activities. The entire student body have been taught by Farrell during her guidance lessons that they should invite a fellow student to play if he or she is sitting on the bench. The boys hope the bench makes other students feel safe and included while having a fun time at recess with a friend. The bench was purchased by the McIntyre PTSO and installed by the North Hills facilities department. NHSD Sports Hall of Fame Nominations Accepted Through April 1 orth Hills School District is accepting nominations for its 2016 Sports Hall of Fame.  Nominations must be received no later than April 1. This year marks the 21st year of the establishment of the district’s Sports Hall of Fame. Created in 1995, it honors individuals who have distinguished themselves in athletics during and/or beyond their years at North Hills High School or the former West View High School. Current inductees have brought pride and recognition to the district’s athletic programs and to the community as former players, coaches, administrators and supporters. Inductees will be announced in June and recognized during the Annual Sports Hall of Fame dinner in the fall. Former inductees are encouraged to attend. Nomination forms are available on the district’s website www.nhsd.net or by calling the Athletics & Activities Office at 412.318.1438. Following a yearlong effort, Dane Fazio, Logan Filipcic, Benjamin Schneider and Ethan Bishop pulled the ribbon off the building’s new Buddy Bench in November during their grade-level’s recess. It is the first Buddy Bench in North Hills School District. The boys brought up the idea of a Buddy Bench to McIntyre school counselor Regina Farrell last school year after reading about its use at another school.
